3505 RIGAURD

RENOVATION + REHABILITATION
SINGLE FAMILY
COMPLETED 2010

Hurricane Ike severely damaged portions of the striking 1980's modernist house originally built for a Pirates' Cove developer. Despite the damage, the design integrity of the house remained, and structural repairs were achievable for a full rehabilitation. Several key structural and aesthetic repairs were required: a cantilevered portion of the structure was near collapse and required repair to restore its structural integrity; over 3,500 square feet of deck areas were destroyed and replaced; and all openings were upgraded.

The overall project scope also includes several major enhancements. Specifically, the work involves the expansion of indoor/outdoor living areas, the addition of a deck wetbar, the construction of a new boat house, improvements to vertical circulation, and the creation of framed views to Galveston’s bay.

A spacious waterfront patio with gray wooden flooring, red railing, and a built-in fire pit. The patio overlooks a body of water with houses visible on the opposite shore under cloudy skies.
